Apple has introduced new chips for its Mac computers, bringing a significant upgrade to the iMac, Mac Mini, and Macbook Pro models. The M4 Pro and M4 Max join the "regular" M4 chip, all built using a 3-nanometer fabrication process and designed with ARM architecture, marking a progression from last year's M3 series.

CPU

The new chips offer varying core configurations: the M4 features up to 10 CPU cores, the M4 Pro boasts up to 14, and the M4 Max boasts up to 16 cores.

GPU

Similarly, the GPU core counts differ across the chips: the M4 supports up to 10 GPU cores, the M4 Pro supports up to 20, and the M4 Max supports up to 40 cores.

Unified Memory

Apple has equipped the chips with varying amounts of unified memory (RAM): the M4 offers up to 32 GB with 120 GB/s bandwidth, the M4 Pro offers up to 64 GB with 273 GB/s bandwidth, and the M4 Max offers up to 128 GB with 546 GB/s bandwidth. Note that Apple has not provided specific CPU and GPU speeds.

AI Chip

All three chips incorporate a 16-core Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and support Apple Intelligence, enabling enhanced AI capabilities.
