Bali, a renowned paradise for tourists, has seen its fair share of incidents involving unruly visitors. One such case involved a Spanish tourist, identified as CNG (37), who found himself facing the harsh reality of deportation after engaging in a string of 'dine and dash' incidents across the island. This incident underscores the importance of responsible tourism and the consequences of failing to honor financial obligations.

A String of Unpaid Bills

CNG, who arrived in Bali with his Colombian girlfriend, ATL, on May 13, 2024, on a Visa on Arrival (VOA), made headlines for his questionable actions. The couple allegedly skipped out on paying for meals at five different restaurants and accommodations in Bali, leaving behind a trail of unpaid bills. The irate hotel and restaurant management eventually decided to report the couple's actions to the police.

Deportation and Blacklist

"CNG and ATL were brought in by officers from the Kuta Selatan Police Station after receiving reports from several restaurant and accommodation business owners," stated Gede Dudy Duwita, the Head of the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim).

While CNG initially claimed financial difficulties and promised to pay, he was unable to fulfill his obligations. As a result, CNG and ATL were detained at Rudenim on June 10, 2024. While ATL was deported on June 25, 2024, CNG was deported on September 18, 2024. To deter future offenses, both their names have been proposed for inclusion in the blacklist.
